1996 Ford Escort engine hesitation when vehicle warms up

This happened before. Put some fuel system cleaner in and it was fixed. The vehicle sat for several weeks lately. It started happening again. I have put fuel system cleaner in. It got a little bit better. But, when the engine is warm, it stalls at idle or when I come to a stop. It was hesitating. But, that has stopped. What do you suggest?

I'd start with a new fuel filter. Wouldn't hurt, and cheap. Then hook up a pressure gauge to the fuel line and let me know what it reads.
