1996 Ford Escort Cooling fan is not working

1996 Ford Escort 4 cyl 104000 miles

My cooling fan stopped working. I can run a hot wire to terminals on plug and fan works. I have 12. volts on the fuse and the fuse is not blown. What do I need to look for next?Where would the relays be located?

It could be a relay or a bad temp sensor. Check the relay first.
