Transmission problem
1995 Ford Escort Automatic

So i have a ford escort 95, and it has recently been failing, im pretty sure its the tranny, in the morning ill start it and give it about 15 min to warm up and then ill start driving and it will be slow off the start, revving* pretty high, and thats with me stopping at any time, a couple times it has actually stopped working, the car will be on and ill go to put the gas on and it will do nothing, the rev meter will go up but the car wont move, it also jolts into different gears, thats all i can think of, but im jsut wondering if that is the tranny dying, if i have to get it replaced or if it could be something simple.

Check, or have someone check, your transmission fluid level right away.
It might be to late to save your transmission.
It does sound like it is slipping pretty bad.
