My '95 Ford Escort LX just recently started making this awful squeaking noise. It seems to be coming from the front passenger side tire area. It starts as soon as my car starts moving and continues off and on until I hit at least 40mph. It's also intermittent; if I lay off the gas, it stops, but it continues once I hit the gas again. It definitely has that regular cyclic sound to it, as if it were something wrong with the tire itself, but my husband and I couldn't see anything wrong when we checked the wheel well. What could this be?? A bearing? My axle? I just had the driver side front tye rod replaced a couple months ago.

Thanks!

Nope, it only does that when I'm driving it. We took it out today and noticed that the squeaking seems to be closer to the front passenger side and the center of the car rather than the actual wheel area.

Sounds like the inner CV joint check to see if boot is torn if so all the grease is probably gone. Grab axle and see if there is a lot of play in CV. If so replace
