Electrical problem
1995 Ford Escort 4 cyl Two Wheel Drive 220000 miles

Origional problem started when my directionals would not work and my car ran like it was stuck in first gear and my battery died. I then found out a blown METER fuse. Car worked normal for a while then when I least expect it my directionals would go outand the care would run like garbage. . I change the fuse and all would be fine againuntile the next time. Now I change the fuse and it blows as soon as I put it in. I suspect a shorted or grounded wire somewhere but where ?
Any suggestions. I will try anything at this point.
