1995 Ford Escort 4 cyl Front Wheel Drive Manual

i have a 1995 ford escort 1.9 i was wondering what the little black box is on the negative battery cable it looks like it has connectors grounding otherthings in the car what is the correct term for it and where would i be able to purshase one

I'm not aware of any black box on the negative side. Can you post a picture of it?
