Replaced lifters and camshaft, car will start but shuts off when put in gear. Also, oil is backing up and coming out of dipstick?

What was giong on that made you replace cam/lifters?
Oil out the dip stick tube is caused by blowby. Excessive crankcase pressure. Check PVC valve ,hose connection need steady vaccum. If all is good then worn rings is the only other possibility.
