1994 Escort Wagon A/C blows warm air

This car has given me 169000 wonderful miles. When I turn on the A/C the compressor engages and I can hear a fairly rapid (once every 1-2 seconds)clicking coming from (what I believe to be) the condensor located by the firewall. I thought I simply needed a coolant boost so I purchased a can with a gauge. When I followed the directions the gauge indicated that the coolant was fully charged. Do you have any suggestions?

Yes the compressor is cycling quickly as well. I located the origin of the "clicking" by the firewall. There are two aproximately 1 inch square by 2 inch long sensors(?) Located all the way at the top of the passenger side firewall. The wiring runs to the condensor. The clicking and compressor cycling happen at the same time and the time between is about 3-5 seconds when the AC is in on high.

Any thoughts?

Hey there,
I was just wondering if you had a chance to think about anything else I can try on this?

Thanks
Mark

Even though it says you have a full charge there is still not enough to keep the compressor running you should probably have this checked
