1993 Ford Escort 4 cyl Front Wheel Drive Manual

I am replacing the water pump and noticed that the timing belt has cracks in it.So i proceeded to take off the things suggested buy my haynes book.I got stuck at the crankshaft bolt Does the bolt turn counter clock wise to losen. the motor is a 1.8 dohc. thank you

Counter clock wise to remove
need an impact gun
will make removing the bolt easier

an also you can try and put an old socket over the bolt and give it few hit with a hammer
