1993 Ford Escort not shiting in to th4 gear

Okay i got all of these gear's 1st 2nd 3rd 5th R/ 4th gear is there but when i go to put it it grinds an pop;s right back out !! what an where do i go to look at it!! new trans an all thing's that in to it is new to top it off!!

It sounds like the syncronizer is bad for that gear. You will need to remove the trans and take it apart to check it. Before that, make sure the fluid is full and clean.
