1991 Ford Escort Clutch

When I drive I have to turn the car off to pu it into first and if I drive I have to slam it into 2nd and it grinds and i replaced the clutch slave cylinder but the clutch is still not working. It has a new transmission.

If the clutch master cylinder is okay and the hydraulic was bleed properly and free play/pedal height adusted You need a new clutch assembly
