My car quit, checked and no fuel to carb.
Checked with test light and no power seems to be
getting to the pump. There are four wires going to
the fuel tank, 2 are grounds, colored black, one is yellow, I believe that is the fuel gauge wire, it blinks with a test light on it and the fuel gauge still works.
The other wire is pink w/black stripe. No power in this wire with the ignition switch on. I checked the fuel pump shut off switch, it is okay. My chilton book on page 5-16 under fuel system/fuel pump diagnosis says "check fuse integrity" what fuse??? there is no fuse designated for the fuel pump in any of my books for this car. I located the fuel pump relay under the dash, is this the fuse they speak of? Is there a fuse link somewhere I can check, I am stumped. Can you point me where or what I need to do?

Most likely its a faulty ignition switch
have to check if power getting to relay when 1st key on
if it does check if power getting to ipump shut off switch and out while cranking if so
you have a faulty fuel pump or shorted wire

I stated in the original question that the shut off switch is fine, as of now there is no power getting to the fuel pump at anytime, switch in any position, but the fuel gauge is working???

when 1st key on you should have power at the shut off switch at least one wire if not
go back to the relay and ignition switch

I stated in the original question and in my reply and I will repeat it ONE more time, the shut off switch is FINE. That means there is power getting to it and power leaving it, I am not an idiot!

Yeah sounds simple, I know you're trying to help but
the wires don't go from the switch to the pump, they go back under the dash. the switch has a red wire with light green stripe and a white wire. The fuel pump has a pink wire with a black stripe and a black wire.
