1989 Ford Escort Steering wheel vibration

Steering problem
1989 Ford Escort Engine Size unknown Two Wheel Drive Automatic 62780 miles

When I brake either sharply or gently from top or low speeds steering wheel vibrates violently. I have had wheels balanced, tracked, aligned but no difference to steering wheel vibration. This started about 3 months ago. Any suggestions as to cause and remedy please?

replace your front brake rotors and the vibration will stop. hope this helps
