1983 Ford Escort Axle Seal

I am working on replacing the driver side axle seal, the problem that I am having is that I can't remove the axle. On all other types of cars that I have worked on all you need to do is put a pry bar between the transmission and the axle and pry out. I was wondering if there is a special way to do it on this type of vehicle or is it just really stuck. thanks for your time. Brad

Pry bar is all you need. It is probably just stuck.
