My 2006 Ford Escape has a little over 100,000 miles on it. As I was driving it today, all of a sudden all of the gauges dropped to zero: no speedometer, tach, gas, etc. The radio also just shut off, no display at all. The car continued to run just fine, but I had no display at all. It popped back up after a while, but I'm concerned that there may be a problem with a fuse.

Doing that going down the road and comes back on-sounds more like the ignition switch is failing
