My car is fine in day to day driving, but if I go on a long ride at high speeds, when I stop it will stall. My son replaced the fuel filter a few months ago. Any idea?

Thanks,
Susan

Susan:
Has the check engine light ever come on? Have you checked fuel pump pressure?

No, the engine light never goes on, and I don't know how to check the fuel pump pressure.

I went to Advance Auto today to see if they could do a free diagnostic test, but they said they can't unless the enging light is on. They suggested putting this fuel stuff in a vacuum hose to see if there is a clog somewhere?(I should have written down what he said).

I appreciate any feedback. I've been trying to find a job for the 1 1/2 months we've moved from FLA (NO JOBS) to Central NY State, so money is tight.

I understand and will try to help. Hell, you're right above me. I'm in PA. I hope you like snow. We got a ton last year.

As far as the vehicle, here is a video and directions for checking fuel pump pressure. You will need a gauge, but most parts stores will lend or rent them to you.

https://www.2carpros.com/how_to/how_to_check_fuel_pressure.htm

Check it and let me know what you find.

Hi Joe,

As you can imagine I'm not too good with this stuff, but I printed the directions you sent and will have my husband look at them tonight.

Snow is a four letter word to me, I can't drive in it, don't even like RIDING in it, but I guess I'll have to make do, or win the lottery and hire a chauffer.

I'll let you know how we make out.

Thanks for all your help,
Susan

I have lived here all my life but want to move south. Had a job offer in VA, but my wife said I would have to go myself. If I didn't have two sons that I love more than anything, I may have gone (LOL). Believe me, I have a 600 ft driveway to plow, and everyone on my street expects me to do their driveways too. If I was getting paid, okay, but I'm a sucker and do it for free.
