Where is the PCM located in a 2005 Ford Escape? Is there any way I can troubleshoot it/ replace it myself?

The engine PCM is located on the firewall on the passenger's side here are diagrams below to show you the location.
Check out the diagrams (Below). Please let us know if you need anything else to get the problem fixed.

No wiring diagrams are available for this vehicle. I also need to know what a "generic electronic modual" (GEM).

the gem module is a module that controls the body functions.
a wire schematic is available for this car. what system are you looking for??
the pcm is under the hood at the firewall.
what issue leads you to this?? this is the last thing in a repair you look at.
