2005 Ford Escape gas petal that won't move in cold weather

My wife's 2005 Ford Escape is having problems with the accelerator. In cold weather you are unable to push the pedal down. It acts as if it is locked.

Check the throttle plate and linkages in cold weather it tends to bind/frozen to the bore-inspect and lubricate
