2004 Ford Escape poor start

car starts fine cold after sitting all night. After initial start in the morning if the car sits longer than 1 hour it has a delayed start (4 - 5 seconds). If the car sits no longer than 30-45 minutes it will start right up again.

start by checking fuel pressure and volume.possible leaking injector or faulty regulator.
