2004 Ford Escape EGR Valve exploded and blew a hole in it's

EGR Valve blew a hole in it's side, when my Ford Escape was increasing it's speed @ 55 to 60 mph.
Replased the EGR valve with new one and replaced the oxigine sensors and again the new one blew a hole in the same area the side of EGR valve. What do I do

you must be having a major backfire through the intake. Is the engine runing rich? Have you ever noticed a backfire through the intake?
