2004 Ford Escape, 99000 miles, V6... The air conditioner will work as expected, i.e blowing cold air, when it is at a stop (while in park or at a stop light/sign); however, after driving down the road a bit it will still blow air but it will no longer be cold.

Most likely a little low on 134a. The suction (low) side will pull down too far and the cycling switch will shut it off to prevent damage to the compressor
