I recently took my car in for a routine oil chnage. They found an oil leak that requires replacing the Timing Cover Gasket and Oil Pan Gaskett. The cost tehy quoted was $1800. First, does that sound like a reasonable cost? Second, the leak is not major (just a few drops in the garage) how urgent is the repair?

It sounds really minor. If it isn't leaking but a couple drops per day, I wouldn't be too concerned. Just make the engine oil level stays in the full range.
