Hello, I was thinking about taking on the task of replacing the PCV tube, on the advice of our local ford service repair shop. Our car was being service for a leaking upper and lower manifold gasket (extended warranty covered) but wanted to charge an arm and leg for replacing the faulty PCV elbow tube. Im a kind of do-it-yourselfer but Im more familiar with V8 mustangs but I figured to save a penny I'll do it myself. Just wondered if you guys could give me some guidance on on the removal and installation and some idea of how many parts Im gonna have to remove just to get to the PCV and PCV tube. Have'nt been able to locate it yet, Thanks!

The first step is to know what you are looking for, and you'll need to get the part. Identification should be easy at that point. The part will need to come from the dealer, as I would not trust a used one.

There is an engine cover that has to be removed that is mostly just for aethetics. The pcv tube I would expect is going to run from the valve cover to the intake manifold. It appears if you follow the vacuum hose from the brake booster (which is behind the master cylinder that holds brake fluid) to the manifold, the pcv hose should be very close to that.
