the interior lights on my van stay on all the time dimmer swich is in the off position and wen doors are shut the light stay on very dim but on

check for faulty door ajar switch, one in each door latch including rear latches.

how do i check them i have manualy pushed them in but lights still on is there a way too disconect them ? or if i remove all the bulbs will it prevent the battiere from going dead?

try lubricating them with WD40 and work it in really good, if it seems to help the problem you know one of the switchs is definitely bad/stickly. if it doesn't help then the problem may be faulty dimmer switch
