1999 Ford E-Series Van V8 Two Wheel Drive Automatic

I received this code P0420 when diagnosing my ford e150 van and it came out as catalyst system efficiency below threshold.what is that ?how do i fix it ?

That is indicating a fault with part of the vehicle's emission system. Most likely the oxygen sensor is ready to be replaced.
