how do i change a rear axel seal on a 1998 e150 ford van .it leaking badly all over my rear brakes

You have to remove the differential cover and remove the "center pin" from the diff carrier. Then you can push the axle(s) into the carrier and remove the "C" clips from the axle splines. after this the axles will pull right out of the housing. NOTE; The most common cause of seal failure is a bad wheel bearing. If you can move the axle flange up and down at all, the wheel bearing is probably bad. Being you have gone this far, you may as well change the seals on both sides.
