do i need any special tools to change front & rear shocks? and how hard of a job is ? thanks bruce

No special tools needed. On the front there should be a bolt and nut on the bottom and a stud with a nut on the top (you might have to find a way or buy the socket to hold the shaft to you can loosen the nut. As for the rear it is pretty straight forward it should be a bolt and nut on both ends.
