1989 Ford E-Series Van hard to start when engine is hot

After driving for a while engine is up to temp, stop turn engine off, engine will not restart for five to ten minutes. Van has a new starter, it acts like the battery is dead but after afew minutes it starts as normal.

Check / clean all electrical connections, starting @ the battery terminals & starter.I recently had a similar thing happen on my '90 model & although the battery cable ends appeared to be clean & tight, the connections weren't really very good.
