When started the engine idles too fast and continues to do so, even for several miles. But there are times when it will start and run just fine. More often not. Mostly idles to fast. Have checked the idle air control and it seems to work fine. Cleaned it also. Get a check engine lite when I acelerate.

Sounds liek idle air control valve is sticking open intermittently. If you have not replaced it yet then I would do so because it is such a common problem for your condition

Thank you for your answer. I will try that. I took it off and cleaned it and it seemed to work freely. Could it be the temp senser?
