My van runs fine during idle. But once I put it in drive and give it a little gas, the engine will run rough for about 5 seconds and then shuts off. Any ideas what could be the cause? I already changed the sparkplugs, solenoid, fuel pump, made sure oil was right, and moved the distributor to make it run a little richer.

Having done this once on my old van I can give you a few tips you have not done. It was NEVER found at a dealer what the REAL problem was but what we did fixed it so to speak.

First off the fuel recirculator next to the fuel tank that has 4 hoses on it should go be replaced next is the fuel filter and then there is the fuel pump in the tank that may not be working just right and then there is the hi pressure pump that could be at fault

as could the fuel reley

Check all of this and then see what happens.

God luck there I hada hell of a problem with this one!

Thanks for the tips, but it ended up being the distributor coil. Changed that and problem solved. Now I got to change the fan clutch because it starts to heat up after 30-45 minutes of street driving. No problems when on highway.
