The trick is securing the pump shaft and either turning the fan base clockwise or counterclockwise.
It should be in the repair manual, what to do.
The greatest idea would be to dump the stock 'finger/hand/arm chopper' and get a quality Zirgo fan.
I have installed a 3000 cfm 16' unit and it is just excellent.
Coupled with a thermostatic oil cooler you should have no cooling problems
