1983 Ford E-Series Van V8 Two Wheel Drive Automatic

I have an 1983 ford E-350 with a 7.5 ltr.

here's what happens,

It starts fine but when I go to drive it I'll go about 50/75 ft. and it starts to spit & sputter REAL bad until it chokes its self out and it won't go over 15 miles an hour.
any help would be great.
