I have no key for the ignition switch for this vehicle. I can buy a new key and tumbler from autozone for less than $10.00. How can I get the old one out without a key or without paying a fortune to a locksmith.

You can try to get a key from Ford if you have the owners manual for the van. I should be listed inside with owners identification. If not then I hate to say it but the only way I know of is with a screwdriver. Put it in where the key goes and turn counterclockwise about a 1/8 of a turn. There should be a small hole to the left side center of the tumbler. Put a paper clip in the hole and push down the pin inside the switch. Then you will be able to turn it a little more counter clock wise and then key tumbler should come out. I can not guarantee this will not mess up the switch itself. What happens it bends the key tumblers themselves to break off. Once the key tumbler is out then you can remove the outside cover that holds the ignition switch in place by unscrewing it counter clockwise. If the switch does get damaged then you can usually order one at auto zone or can get one at e-bay. They have the complete ignition switch for around $30.00. It's up to you how you want to get it out. Remember by using a scredriver you might damage the switch it's self.
