Engine Performance problem
1975 Ford E-Series Van V8 Two Wheel Drive Automatic

Wife and I recently bought a 1975 ford econoline e150 custom. The engine size is 351w/v8/5.8L.
We are restoring our van little by little. We want to know what can we do, buy, or install into our engine to maxime fuel efficiency. Right now we need a new carburator and we are changing the intake manifold gaskets since we have an oil leak.
We are a little confused with some peoples advice. That is why we asking you expert opinion.
