I have a 1987 ford crown victoria with 11500 miles and the air compressor went out on me what are the steps to replacing it

Why in da hell would you replace the smog pump unles you live in CA? Take that sucker off and plug off all lines that go to it, the ones that go to the heads gotta be welded shut but the rest can just be plugged. You'll gain 15 horses and'll only have to spend about $15 to buy a shorter belt! :Twisted:
