96crvc 4.6PI dies as soon as foot off gas

It has over 100,000 got it from inlaws hasn't been running in 4 years wouldn't start for them. Changed two sensors and starter. Started, thick black stuff coming out of tailpipes was almost empty filled up. Put two cans of heat through it Sensors were the idle sensor and crank position sensor. Runs rough realize it need tune up but want to fix this problem first. Any ideas?

do a tune up on it clean idle air valve
take it and drive it let the idle find it self
