2001 Ford Crown Victoria

Resently my headlights on my patrol unit will go out I have had the switch replaced but they still go out. If you turn the switch to the off position for a few seconds sometimes minutes, the lights will come back on but after a wile they will go back out. aslo if I try to keep a speed between 40 and 50 mph most of the time up hill, the car begins to skip bad, Ive had a tune up but the skipping countinues.

First, have the fuel pump pressure checked. It sounds like it is starved for fuel when under a load.

Next, check under the hood for the power distribution box. I believe there is a relay for the headlights. Switch it with another relay with the same part number to see it the lights still continue to cause a problem. If they do, have the multi function switch checked.
