1998 Ford Crown Victoria V8 Two Wheel Drive Automatic

I have a 1998 Crown Victoria that needs a new starter, but I can't get the belt off. The tensioner is striped out.

Can I ask why you are removing the belt to replace the starter?Get a friend to help you, push down on the tensioner wheel with your hand and have your helper remopve the belt where it has slack in it.
