Hello! On very hot days when I am running the AC my engine will run rough, as if a cylinder is not firing. It will continue to run, not stall, with a steady check engine light. After a while it will start to run good again (especially if I get it up to highway speed for a while). I re-set the check engine light and all is well to it happens again. (Temperature meter reads OK, mid-range) I suspect it is a coil-pac or maybe a relay. I have cleaned out some rust under the coil packs and have swapped the relays around. I am still testing. Wires and plugs are good (new). What do you suggest? I am thinking New Coil Packs, Relays and Diode. ?

Hi:
Have you checked for vacuum leaks? Also, if the check engine light was on, have you had the codes read? Most nationally recognized parts stores will do it for free. Finally, a weak coil pack could cause it, but without knowing what code is set, it would be a guess and I'm not one for having people spend money based on guessing. Let me know what code you find and then we will have a better idea which way to go.
