MY '96 Crown Vic is constantly low on oil. It's a good car but I can't keep oil in it. I heard a loud clacking noise yesterday and when I checked my oil the stick was dry as a bone. I felt like an idiot and put in 5 quarts. Problem is I had an oil change only 6 weeks ago. I'm constantly running dry on oil and I never see a leak or a drop of oil on the ground. I have lots of miles on the car but I don't think it should burn oil this fast. What's wrong with my car?

This sounds like a worn out motor, oil rings, valve guides? And perhaps main bearings?
Look to see if the back of your car has oil residue, look for smoke at start up and acceleration.
I am not a pro mechanic but this is my thinking based on your info.
I have heard of oil being sucked into the break booster but not that much.
Look for oil in the coolant, were this the case you should still see some sign of oil spill.
