The ignition on the car is broken. A key got stuck in the ignition and broke off. The previous owner took out the ignition piece that the key goes into. Now to start the car I have to get under it and touch two bolts on the starter with a screwdriver and have a friend turn the ignition piece that is broken. how do I fix it so that i can start the car by myself without getting out of the car?

As long as the colum is still good and is not all beat up you should be able to goto the parts store and get a new key and lock cylinder and just slide it in.
