Will an clogged egr valve cause my car to seem like the transmission is shifting into 2nd gear too soon or slipping on take off ? If I hold the brakes down and push the accelerator it doesn't slip or feel like the transmission is going t, but when I take off if I press the excelerator hard then it feels like the transmission is slipping or going out. I think the mechanic told me the diagnostic code was P-31 insufficient EGR air flow. How do I manuelly check the EGR valves without tools, and how do you lift the EGR valve to see if I need to replace it ?
