1995 Ford Crown Victoria Dims out

It sart w/ the light panel on the temp contols going to a flashing, than the radio/cd player, than the dash lights flash alittle and going dead., the lights on the car start going dark as if the on board cump. was turning things off. The high beam go dead , than the low beams are so dim you can't but see them. Brake and flasher last to go. BUT, I put it on a batt. char. and it reas 1 or 2 . If I jump it it turn right over stong. I put a new batt. Had the gen/att. starter, volt reg, sol . on the starter( no, this model dose NOT have one on the fender wall yrs. 94-96 as like that) SO.............whats going on Jayafreet@yaoo.com

when everything goes dim, is the battery going dead too? How was the alt checked?
