1992 Ford Crown Victoria car still going

yes my car still goes like i have my foot on the gas but it is off, no where near it. It just started doing this. Actually its kind of like i have the cruise control on but that has not worked since ive had the car , going on 3 years now.Also it idles real high some times well actually about half the time. I also have to put more gas to get it to where i want it on high speeds like my usual 80 on the highway. could somebody olease help me, this is driving me crazy. someone said it was the throttle position sensor

It could be the throttle position sensor or the idle air control valve. Has the check engine light come on?
