1987 ford crown victoria with 5.0L exhaust fills car through vents with heat on or off not leaking from exhaust system. possibly somthing with smog pump?

If you are getting exhaust fumes through the vents, there has to be a leak in the engine compartment. Have you checked for leaks at the manifolds?
