I have a 1998 Ford Contour GL with 157,372 miles on it as of the writing of this email. It has had transmission work and still runs good. I am wondering if you can give me a figure (ballpark) on what it would cost to have the following done: complete new brakes, new struts, new tires, flush transmission and cooling system, new belts and hoses, new plugs and wires, new fuel pump.
Can you give a figure and then tell me if it is worth it or if we might just want to bite the bullet and look at a newer used vehicle. The goal is to avoid a car payment if we have to, but if the car is not worth all this work, then why do it?
Thanks,
revacher
