The brake light on the dash panel 'comes on' and 'turns off' at times. Does this mean that I need to have my brakes serviced ? (I did not think the brake light was that sophisticated........that is only reminded me that I had the emergency brake engaged).

Thanks.

could be that the pads are worn down enough that the fluid in the master cylinder is low hence warninng light comes on. wheel cylinders could be leaking if so equipped allowing fluid to escape the braking system.
when it comes to brakes don't screw around have them checked by a professional!
