2000 Ford Contour 4 cyl Automatic 90000 miles

I was driving down the road when all of the sudden it stopped accelerating and the oil light came on. Now my car won't start. My friend looked at it and said the fuel pump was working and it was low in oil but not out. Any suggestions?

If it does not even crank, yoy may have siezed the engine, the oil light will com on if the oil is low, or NOT pumping. You should remove the spark plugs, then use a wrench and try to turn the engine by hand. If it cranks, do a compression check.
