Engine Cooling problem
2000 Ford Contour 4 cyl Automatic

my car had overheated due to water hose busted and i had another engine installed. This engine and overflow is very hot to the touch. I constantly check the oil and antifreeze in the overflow. I also keep my eye on the dash to make sure its not running hot and its not. Is it normal for it to be extremely hot ? I don't know if the original engine was like that

It is normal for it to get very hot. The engine runs at aprox 200 degrees F. The coolant is the same. Just keep an eye on the temp gauge in the car. If it goes up high, then worry. Other than that, it is normal.

Let me know if you have other questions.
