1999 Ford Contour several things wrong

I was driving home and the first thing I noticed was my battery warning light came on. Then my heat wasn't working. As I kept driving my RPM guage died, then my MPH guage. My lights dimmed and I could not accelerate normally. My car also smelled bad. I don't know whats wrong?

Check for a broken serpentine belt...or check your charging system, if you do not have at least 9 to 10volts, the PCM and sensors will not operate correctly!
